While I am, unfortunately, unable to ever look back on the early days of an MMO, I can use my own experience from a game that is just as old as TSW. Being an old, hardcore WoW player, I was immediately drawn to TSW from the moment it was announced. The early access to the PTR was exciting, but I did not start playing until the game was already live, and I decided to come back. I had played WoW up until release, quit a month before and then came back a couple weeks later. I started the game at the best time, when my gear was at its strongest and the game wasn't yet burdened by the influx of players who would wait until the end-game and gear grind to get their last few levels. My guild was already at a high level by that point and I was making significant amounts of gold per hour. After a few weeks of playing TSW, I was making at least 2/3x more gold per hour than I was in WoW. I was doing a LOT of PvE content, and I spent more time in game than I did in WoW when I was playing. I was farming for flasks and gems while questing, and eventually raiding in TSW. I was making a full time income, and it was a lot of fun. I had the chance to progress my character's skills, do a significant amount of PvP, and make meaningful contributions to the TSW community. If TSW had stayed at this level for a few months more, it would have been a fantastic game. Unfortunately, due to the way in which GW2 was released and Blizzard took over as lead developer, it was clear to me that this was not going to be the case. I made the decision to move on, because if I stayed, I was sure to get burned out and annoyed with the game. It was an easy decision. TSW had always been a great game and it could still
